Paradise Plaza

Exterior tile design and installation for an outdoor shopping area lined with art and designer shops.

A combination of design, versatility, and outdoor performance. The project included all exterior tiles of the shopping plaza.

Development

We needed to procure a material that would create a dynamic illusion and withstand the ever-changing environment and pass the test of time. The approach was terracotta in an Amalfi style that underwent scrutinized engineering and testing to endure hurricanes and intermediate weather conditions.

Conceptual Design

The architectural design of the Paradise Plaza façade presents an effect that mimics the Miami scene using single equilateral triangle tiles that, when rotated, create movement.

Execution

Hand pressing over 100,000 tiles, each piece was made as a singular work of art. The tiles were installed in coordination with the building façade to create perfect movement. All exterior and interior corners were custom made so that no piece was cut on-site. This project took over 6 months to install and complete.
